After messing with it for about an hour, I finally got my Laptop on the home network. I could use the internet wirelessly way before that. My dad just had to put my mac address in. It turns out I had a bunch of network related services turned off on my laptop. That is why I could connect properly. DUH JOE! Now I am copying my files I need from laptop just fine.
